My research focuses on how animals and plants interact and respond to environmental stress. I greatly enjoy working with students - both in the classroom and on independent projects - to design and test scientific questions. In particular, I work with my students to address research questions regarding how global change (i.e., biological invasions, climate change, urbanization) influence animal and plant survival and growth. We also explore how animal behavior is shaped by - and responds to - changes in habitat and how animal behavior may influence inter-specific interactions. My labs applied work focuses on identifying barriers to community regeneration following disturbance.
